Brandon Lee's graduation speech of June 12, 1978 delivered by Brandon at Rolling Hills Country Day School.

To me, my educational career thus far seems to resemble (in a way) the myth of Sisyphus; who was forever condemned to push a boulder up a steep hill in Hades; but ere he reached the top, the boulder would slip from his grasp. We, like Sisyphus, have wish each passing year pushed the metaphorical boulder of comprehension and learning a few yards further; until, a this graduation ceremony, we reach the hill's crest and prepare to move on to steeper embankments. However, the more we learn, the more we are forced to realize we do not know. As Socrates said" I am the smartest man in all of Athens, because I know how ignorant I am." Of course, the goal of any student is to progress along the higher levels of understanding: high school and college, and finally to a place in society. As Judas betrayed Jesus, I feel that a student betrays all his former teachers if he does not try to do the best he possibly can during his academic career.
